Guide

Seven ways to lower your internet bill.

Most people pay more than they need to. Start at the top of this list and stop when the bill looks right.

  1. Check when your promotion ended. Many bills jump after twelve months.
  2. Audit equipment fees. Rental fees add up; owning your own modem may save money.
  3. Check your speed tier. You may be paying for more than you use.
  4. Ask for a retention offer. Providers sometimes offer discounts to customers who say they are leaving.
  5. Bundle thoughtfully. Mobile with internet can reduce both bills, but only if you would buy both anyway.
  6. Turn on autopay and paperless billing. Often worth a monthly discount.
  7. Compare providers. A new-customer price elsewhere can be lower than your loyalty price.
